Indiana State Rep. Bob Morris
An Indiana politician dove into the shallow end of the crazy pool over the weekend over, of all things, the Girl Scouts. Ft. Wayne Republican State Rep. Bob Morris wrote a letter to his colleagues over the weekend where he said he wouldn't sign a resolution honoring the centennial anniversary of the Girl Scouts because the group is a "radicalized organization" that "promotes a homosexual lifestyle" and supports abortion.

Morris said he discovered the Girl Scouts' secret agenda by reading websites such as Honest Girl Scouts, Speak Now Girl Scouts and "America's Independent News Network" conservative wingnut website World Net Daily. (Because everything one reads on the Internet is Gospel.)

The text from Morris' letter read in part:

"(A)bundant evidence proves that the agenda of Planned Parenthood includes sexualizing young girls through the Girl Scouts, which is quickly becoming a tactical arm of Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood instructional series and pamphlets are part of the core curriculum at GSA training seminars. Denver Auxiliary Bishop James D. Conley of Denver last year warned parents that 'membership in the Girl Scouts could carry the danger of making their daughters more receptive to the pro-abortion agenda.'"

Morris, in a phone interview with Ft. Wayne television station WANE, said he had no issues with local Girl Scout Troops, only the Girl Scouts of America. All the same, he plans on pulling his two daughters out of their local troop, lest eating a Samoa cookie with a piping hot cup of Pennyroyal tea starts them on the dark path to Ani DiFranco records and watching Ellen while selling morning after pills on the black market.

Morris said his letter received a mixed reaction, but that "some eyes were opened." The Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana - Michiana released a statement that read.

"Neither Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana - Michiana nor Girl Scouts USA have any relationship with Planned Parenthood. No funds are allocated to Planned Parenthood. Neither organization has a programmatic relationship with Planned Parenthood. Neither organization has plans for any relationship in the future."
