RateBeer.com released its annual list of the best breweries in the world and Three Floyds takes the top spot.
This isn't a surprising development: the Munster-based brewery is held in equally high regard by both fellow brewers and beer geeks, and is routinely at or near the top of the list at both RateBeer and Beer Advocate.
A look at the top 25 on the list shows further proof the Midwest and Great Lakes is one of the hottest craft beer regions in the world. Michigan's Founders Brewing and Bell's Brewing placed second and third behind Three Floyds. Kuhnhenn Brewing in Warren, MI, rounds out the top ten. In the 11th spot is Minnesota's Surly Brewing, while New Glarus Brewing comes in at number 25.
Goose Island's purchase by Anheuser-Busch/InBev had little impact with RateBeer's users. They're at number 35 on the list. Half Acre placed at 66th.
