Bell's Marks Spring With Oberon Release Parties

2012_3_26_oberon.jpgSpring in Chicago means bad baseball is around the corner, people don shorts way too soon, and Bell's Beer makes a spectacle in bringing their wildly popular Oberon ale to shelves.

Bell's never waits until summer is near to release their summer wheat ale, probably because they understand how fleeting summer is in the Midwest. With more wheat ales competing for shelf space, Oberon remains one of the best interpretations of the style locally.

Bell's has set up three launch parties between now and Wednesday to celebrate the release of Oberon. The first starts at 6 p.m. tonight at Sheffield's (3258 N. Sheffield Ave.), where, in addition to Oberon, there will be raffles and giveaways throughout the night.

Tomorrow Binny's South Loop (1132 S. Jefferson St.) has an Oberon release from 6-8 p.m. $5 gets you a complimentary pour of Oberon, and Bell's will also have their Two Hearted IPA, Consecrator Doppelbock and Hopslam available, in addition to raffles and giveaways. Call 312-768-4400 to RSVP.

Wednesday The Beer Bistro (1061 W. Madison St.) gets in on the Oberon love with a release party from 7-10 p.m.
