2012_04_06_style_network.jpg West Loop hair salon AJ's of Chicago, aka Ajes, will be featured on the new Style Network show Chicagolicious, a spin-off from Jerseylicious. They call it a "docu-series" but we know that means reality show. Talk TV World writes:

Produced by Endemol USA, the creator and executive producers of Style's #1 hit series "Jerseylicious," this 10-episode series takes viewers to the Windy City to follow AJ Johnson who owns AJ's of Chicago, and whose clientele includes a who's who of actors and models, including Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett and Iman. With his staff of hair stylists and makeup artists, AJ looks to expand his business nationally by servicing more elite clientele and solidifying his place in Chicago society.

We may not be "reality" fans, but it's good to see a local shop get the national lens. In other local reality news, according to the Sun-Times, some Italian-Americans are unhappy with how VH1's Mob Wives Chicago interprets the culture. The owner of an Elmwood Park restaurant allowed the show to film there, drawing protests from the Italian-American Human Relations Foundation of Chicago. VH1 also recently premiered House of Consignment, based on Lincoln Park store eDrop-Off. And don't forget about TruTV's documentation of Chicago's hot dog shenanigans on The Wiener's Circle.

Chicagolicious premieres Sunday, June 3 at 8 p.m. CT on the Style Network.
