Burger King Debuts Bacon Sundae, Our Arteries Clog A Little More

burger-king-logo.jpeg Finally, a fast food development that doesn't completely horrify us. The Doritos Loco taco made us want to throw up, the pink slime made us angry, but the new Burger King Bacon Sundae just makes us fat. Or will make us fat, if it ever gets out of the testing phase - Eater reported earlier this morning that the fast food company is testing the new dessert in Nashville.

This is a somewhat ironic addition to the menu, given Burger King's recent efforts to re-design their menu around healthier items. On the other hand, it's very cost-effective; it uses ingredients they already have in the stores, combines then in a new way and lets BK jump on a trendy bandwagon. With Baconfest looming this weekend and a literal ton of Neuske's bacon sitting somewhere in Chicago waiting to be cooked, we have bacon on the brain - and apparently so does Burger King.

We have mixed feelings about this development. The pork used in the bacon is probably fairly mediocre, and we've never found fast food bacon particularly palatable. On the other hand, we can now get a bacon sundae at 11 at night after an evening of drinking. No word yet on when/if it will arrive in Chicago.
