Afternoon Box Score: Cubs Shut Out Brewers

The original headline to this post was "Garza Shuts Out Brewers" but Cubs starter Matt Garza airmailed a comebacker 40-50 feet into the grandstand, one out away from earning a complete game shutout. (Seriously, Garza's toss brought back images of a young Shawon Dunston overthrowing Mark Grace, followed by a perfectly timed "Holy Cow" by Harry Caray.)

Digressing, Shawn Camp was up to the challenge of getting the final out. The Cubs lineup, meanwhile, tattooed Brewers starter Zack Greinke for eight runs in 3-2/3 innings of work. Starlin Castro and Alfonso Soriano each drove in two runs, while Steve Clevenger had two doubles as the Chicago National League Ballclub avoided a sweep by Milwaukee.
