Joe Sell, guitarist from Lucky Boys Confusion passed away last night, according to The Daily Herald. Sell had been fighting health problems in the past months, but recently he seemed more optimistic about the future. His most recent Facebook post, on May 1 displayed a can-do attitude regarding a new job and its benefits:

Working today from 3pm-10pm. But that's not the point. The point is that i get to make that kind of status update all the time now! P.s. did i mention the part about health insurance? Without it, i have had an expensive year. Now that i have it, i probably won't have so much as a stuffy nose for a long time... that's how it happens, right? But seriously, i feel so much better just having a job... and the health insurance is a huge bonus. Tomorrow i start at 5 am.
Lucky Boys Confusion was a huge part of the Chicago scene, acting as forbears in the punk-pop scene, paving the way for other locals including Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is. The band has been together for over 15 years and have always put on shows that delighted fans and embraced positivity. Let's remember Joe in those moments, onstage and living each ebullient moment to the breaking point.
