Maple-Bacon Long John
After a bit of a delay, Glazed and Infused Doughnuts is finally opening on Monday, May 21. What better way to drown your post-NATO sorrows than with a bacon-maple doughnut? We profiled Glazed and Infused back in March, when they first released samples of their out-of-this-world pastries. Now you can get them for yourself. Chicago Magazine initially reported (incorrectly, according to a representative of G&I) that the shop will open on Sunday - the real date is Monday, May 21.

Our favorite thing about G&I? Their late-night hours. The location in Wicker Park (right outside of the Damen Blue Line stop) will be open from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, in addition to standard business hours during the day. This means you can get a whole bag of doughnuts to cap off your night of drinking - genius. The location on W. Fulton also opens on Monday, though with more limited hours.

They will open with a list of 13 flavors, plus rotating specials. The list features just about everything we tasted, including the apple fritter, vanilla bean glazed, creme brulee and the sure-to-please maple bacon long john. Look for the Armitage location to open later in the summer.

Glazed and Infused is located at 1576 North Milwaukee Avenue and 813 W. Fulton Market. At the Wicker Park location, hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. At the Fulton Market location, hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2 pm Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Saturday and Sunday.
