State Rep. Bost Says Response To His Tantrum "Mostly Positive"

2012_06_01_rep_bost.gif State Rep. Mike Bost says response to his temper tantrum on the Illinois House floor has been "mostly positive." We wonder if he's including this techno remix of his hissy fit. The southern Illinois representative says he's heard from people not just in Illinois, but all over the country who support him.

"I don't think the general public accepts it, and I think that's the reason we're getting the response we're getting," Bost told the Associated Press. "Enough's enough."

As Capitol Fax pointed out yesterday, "most of the rules that Bost is complaining about were put in place by Republicans in 1995, and he voted for them." Bost acknowledged that and said he "didn't fully understand it" and said that vote was a mistake.

The object of most of Bost's complaints, Speaker of the House Mike Madigan, just shrugged off the criticisms. "That's life in the General Assembly," Madigan said. "Let's not get swept up in the emotion of the minute." Bost says he'd like the position of Speaker to be limited to three terms. Madigan has served as speaker for 27 of the last 29 years.

Because the internet is a wonderful, beautiful place, someone has made this techno remix of Bost's little fit. Highlights: The chorus of "LET MY PEOPLE GO" and the interjection of Bill Clinton playing saxophone.
