Here are your dance round-up for the first week of June.

Tuesday June 5:
River North Dance at Millennium Park

River North Dance Chicago presents “World Class, Home Grown,” their first Pritzker Pavilion performance as part of the Millennium Park free concert series. They will also be honoring Mayor, and former ballet dancer, Rahm Emanuel with the RNDC “Dream Maker Award.” 6:30pm.

Thursday June 7-10:
Luna Negra’s “Luna Nueva” at Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art presents a unique program that reaches beyond traditional expectation and focuses on the “art of movement.” Luna Nueva features two world premieres including an original full-company work for Luna Negra Dance Theater by Argentinean guest choreographer Diana Szeinblum, as well as rehearsal director Monica Cervantes’ Requiem. Artistic Director Gustavo Ramirez Sansano’s En Busca de completes the bill. Tickets are $28, students $10. (220 E. Chicago Ave.).

Friday June 8:
Chicago Dance Crash: Gotham City

Dance meets graphic novel in this interpretation of the notorious dark city. Choreographed by Jessica Deahr and written by Mark Hackman, Gotham City features a fusion of hip-hop, ballet and break dance with heart-pumping acrobatics. This opening night performance kicks off the program’s six week run, the longest in the company’s history. Tickets are $25 ($18 for seniors and students). DCA Storefront Theater (66 E. Randolph). 7:30pm.

Saturday June 9:
Shimmyfest

This “Grand Gala Showcase” concludes Chicago Shimmyfest 2012, a four-day belly dance workshop with the Jasmin Jahal School of Dance, with performances from participants as well as a special performance from Jahal herself. Tickets are $20. Vittum Theater’s Adventure Stage (1012 N. Noble). 7pm.
