Grab a blanket and some friends and and head to the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Sculpture Garden this evening where saxophonist Ernest Dawkins will be kicking off Tuesdays on the Terrace. The free summer series presents a mix of new and classic local jazz artists every Tuesday continuing all the way through September, including a legacy tribute to the late Fred Anderson. Seating is available on the terrace if you would rather an up-close concert view, or make a reservation at Puck’s Cafe for for terrace dining. This season the buffet features an international barbeque menu that changes each week. Light snacks and beverages are also for sale for those picnicking on the lawn.

Running from 5:30 to 8 p.m., it’s a better way to spend a summer happy hour. Check out the full season schedule of musicians below, and don’t forget that Tuesdays are always Community Free Days at the MCA, so take advantage by checking out the current exhibits during intermission.
