Forgotten Chicago is hosting a boat tour of the Calumet River starting noon July 15. The tour starts at Burnham Harbor (just east of Soldier Field) and will take guests down lake Michigan to the inlet to the Calumet River, where the old U.S. Steel Works used to reside. From there you'll pass some of the remaining structures still standing from the steel works and other industry and pass under a series of bascule bridges, railroad lift bridges and the Chicago Skyway. The tour will go as far south as 130th Street. On top of all that, Forgotten Chicago has an unlimited snack buffet including beer and wine.

This is an ideal opportunity to tour a major part of Chicago's history in a unique manner and, as of post time, tickets for this event were still available and may be bought by clicking here.

If you have an event for inclusion in "Pencil This In," please contact Tankboy (for A&E-related listings), Anthony (for tastings, dinners and food and drink-related events) or tips[at]chicagoist[dot]com.
