You've definitely heard about the discovery of Higgs boson, aka the God Particle, but maybe you need a little brush-up on physics to understand just how important that is.
That's why The Illinois Science Council is partnering with 137 Films to show the documentary The Atom Smashers on Monday. After the film, learn more during a Q&A with physicists, including some who worked on the project at Fermilab in Batavia.
The Illinois Science Council is a nonprofit that educates and entertains adults on science and technology. 137 Films is a Chicago-based nonprofit documentary production company focusing on telling the stories of science.
Higgs Boson Discovery Explained with The Atom Smashers is on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Landmark Century Center Cinema 2828 N. Clark Street, $10 in advance, $15 at the door
