Sponsored by "Sound Opinions" and the Music Box Theatre, the Music Box Summer Music Film Festival returns for a four-day fest running July 30th through August 2nd. The fest will include one-off screenings of movies like LCD Soundsystem swan concert film song Shut Up and Play The Hits; Andrew Bird's touring doc Andrew Bird: Fever Year; and Under African Skies, the retrospective documentary about Paul Simon's landmark Graceland LP. Elsewhere, classic rock docs Gimme Shelter and Monterey Pop get two screenings a-piece.

Here's the full schedule:

Monday, July 30, 2012
7:30 p.m. Monterey Pop
9:15 p.m. Gimme Shelter

Tuesday, July 31, 2012
5:30 p.m. Gimme Shelter
7:30 p.m. Under African Skies
9:45 p.m. Monterey Pop

Wednesday, August 01, 2012
7:30 p.m. Fever Year

Thursday, August 02, 2012
7:30 p.m. Shut Up and Play The Hits (Screening co-hosted by Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot for a closing night event.)

Tickets for each individual screening are $12. WBEZ Members can buy tickets for $10 by using “WBEZ” as a code during purchase online, over the phone or in person. If you opt for "Purchase a Package" option, and buy tickets to 3 or more films at once, you'll get $5 off per ticket. Go here for more information. Expect the Andrew Bird and LCD Soundsystem screenings to sell out, as those will likely be the last time either film is shown in a Chicago theater.
