Blue Island isn't just the home to oft-maligned rockers Enuff Z'Nuff. It also holds some little known architectural gems like Heimbach House. This Bertrand Goldberg-designed home received mixed reviews from Architectural Forum when it was built. Today the Heimbach House at 13020 Greenwood Avenue is a Blue Island landmark and one of six confirmed Goldberg-designed homes still standing.

Forgotten Chicago is conducting a walking tour of Heimbach House and Blue Island July 22 at 1:15 p.m., rain or shine. This is Forgotten Chicago's first walking tour outside Chicago’s city limits. Participants will also enjoy a walking tour of scenic and hilly downtown Blue Island, including a remarkably intact early commercial district, 19th century residential structures and more!
