Pencil This In: Arts & Crafts At Public House

By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 7, 2012 4:20PM

2012_8_7_PTI.jpg Chicago Artists' Coalition is curating a unique event at Public House (400 N. State St.) Wednesday, Aug. 6, that pairs art with beer.

"Arts & Crafts" features art inspired by local craft beers and, in some cases, incorporating ingredients used int he brewing of the beers. Illustrator Brent Fogt created drawings for this event using the hops Finch's Beer Company adds to their Threadless IPA. Industry of the Ordinary produced a performance and video installation inspired by Solemn Oath's Oubliette. Sculptor Nancy Lu Rosenheim will showcase works inspired by Goose Island's "Four Sisters" series of beers.

Guests attending Arts & Crafts will be able to drink the beers that inspired the artwork and chat with the artists about their muses. The event runs from 6-10 p.m. and tickets are still available as of post time by clicking here.
