Tavi Gevinson, who already has “writer,” “editor,” “fashion maven” and “singer” on her resume at the young age of 16, now can add “actress” to her list of accomplishments.

The Oak Park native and force behind online magazine Rookie has signed a representation deal with clout-heavy Hollywood agency UTA and will soon star in an upcoming film from Fox Searchlight.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gevinson has been cast in a currently unnamed film by Nicole Holofcener (Friends With Money) as Chloe, “an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to grow up faster than her peers.” This would be Gevinson’s first full-length feature. She most recently starred in the short animated film Cadaver and sang the film’s theme song: a cover of Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold.” Gevinson was also the subject of a July New York Times feature.

When I was 16 it was a momentous achievement to hang out at Rolling Stones Records in Norridge with a few bucks in my pocket.
