Filmmaker Matt Liston is digging deep into Cubs folklore for a new project. Cubs fans may remember Adam Greenberg for his Moonlight Graham-like career that ended with a one-pitch, scary bean ball to the head. Now, years after Greenberg failed to make it back to the big leagues, Liston has launched a campaign called "One At-Bat" to get him the at-bat he never officially had.

Liston is calling for the Cubs to give Greenberg an at-bat during the final series of the year against the equally terrible Houston Astros. Liston's previous work includes Chasing October, a film about his obsession with the 2003 Cubs.

Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer has already dismissed the idea saying, "While it is unfortunate he got hit in his first at-bat, he is in the Baseball Encyclopedia as a major leaguer and he should be incredibly proud of that. We wish him the best, but there are no plans to add him to the roster now or in the future."

But that hasn't stopped the "One At-Bat" campaign; you can still sign the petition here.
