Thelonious Martin Gets Soulful On His New Mixtape

By Jon Graef in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 21, 2012 8:40PM

One of Chicago's most promising up-and-coming young producers, Thelonious Martin, who's worked with Kids These Days, Action Bronson, and Odd Future's Hodgy Beats, released a new instrumental mixtape, MCMXCII, in celebration of his twentieth birthday. Listen to it here. For those listeners who like hip-hop of a soulful, instrumental and introspective nature, MCMXCII, and Martin's music in general, will undoubtedly hit a sweet spot for music fans still mourning the loss of J Dilla. Best experienced as an impressionistic, jazz-and-soul-influenced whole, MCMXCII makes for ideal headphone, head-nodding listening.
