Jimmy John Liautaud does move fast. The founder of Jimmy John's sandwich shops made good on a promise he made in January 2011 to move his company's corporate headquarters from Illinois.

Liautaud Said during a Sept. 18 business panel he would move his company's licensing division to Florida in 2013. He also plans to move his family to the Sunshine State.

Liautaud was a very vocal critic of the Illinois General Assembly's decision to hike the personal and corporate income tax rate last year. After the tax hike was signed into law by Gov. Pat Quinn, Liautaud said of the move, "All they do is stick it to us" and added the governor and legislature showed a "clear lack of understanding."

Liautaud told guests at the George W. Bush Presidential Center's Chicago Tax Conference last week moving the licensing division to Florida was only thee beginning of hightailing it out of the Land of Lincoln. (Per Crain's Chicago Business)

"That's what we're going to do to start, but I think you'll probably see us out of Illinois in the next four years and probably see us in Indiana or Austin (Texas), if I was to guess."

Last year Liautaud said he received offers to relocate the company's corporate headquarters from Champaign by "multiple pro-business states" that made him feel "wanted and important."

On Wednesday, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels talked about his state's dealings with Liautaud and took a shot at Illinois' penchant for gubernatorial corruption.
