We've been waitig for an appropriate time to share this tune from TKTTSM's self-titled debut with you, and the spooky fog that's enveloped downtown Chicago seems perfect for it. This duo puts together soupy songs that bounce all over the place—one second we're feeling icy '80s goth and the next we're submerged in a din of guitars and crashing cymbals—so you never quite know what to expect next. The only constant is a smeary volume that takes joy in surfing along a constant crescendo. Singer Johanna Stahley whispery then screamy high pitched vocals cut through the walls of sound and hit you in the face like a knife that's so cold it burns when it comes in contact with you.

Their album as a whole takes a little getting used to, creating a touch of aural whiplash as it crams each song full of different movements. This is probably due to the duo being touring and session musicians by day, so this studio project sees them indulging every whim. It doesn't always work, but when it does it's a lot of fun to get lost in.

So download "Plastic Fantastic" below, pop it in your earbuds, look out the window—or better yet go outside—and get lost in the fog and TKTSM's sound.
