All those years of bar trivia are about to pay off. The Big Quiz Thing is an elaborate team trivia series that calls New York its home but is slowly spreading across the States, and it makes its debut in Chicago tonight.

The event will run on the first Thursday of every month starting 8 p.m. tonight at Uncommon Ground Devon. The night of quizzery takes on a multimedia, multi-round format, including video and audio puzzles, a lightning round, and a three-way finale. The first place winner takes home a $200 grand prize, but there are also prizes for runners up and other losers: tickets to The Second City and sports events, gift cards to restaurants, etc. If you suck at trivia, that’s OK too. The quizmaster will award Smart-Ass Points for wrong answers if they’re funny enough.

Teams should be at least four people and up to eight, though the people who run the thing admit that they rarely enforce this rule. If you don’t have enough people or want to fly solo, they can also try to match you up with other players. And you don’t have to register beforehand—just show up.

The Big Quiz Thing is today, Thursday, Oct 4 at Uncommon Ground, 1401 W Devon, 8 p.m., $10
