Police say an employee at a southwest Chicago Chuck E. Cheese stabbed a patron with a box cutter. Police say Shardonnae Pruitt, 19, stabbed a 25-year-old patron on Sept. 30 after arguing with the woman's male companion over a salad plate.

The Tribune writes:

The patron was with a 40-year-old man who became angry that Pruitt had taken away his salad plate and threw his utensils on the floor and demanded to see the manager, police said.

Pruitt returned with the manager, and the man asked to make a formal complaint against Pruitt, police said. When the manager stepped away, Pruitt threatened the man and pulled out the box cutter and stabbed the woman, police said, citing reports.

The woman who was stabbed was treated and released. Pruitt was charged with simple assault and battery.
