Experi-Metal Trio Locrian Recording New Material For Spring 2013 Release

Prolific experimental ambient metal trio Locrian, who've roots in Chicago and Baltimore, is recording new material reflecting an ambitious interest in prog-rock. (Is there any other kind?).
According to a post by the band's label, Relapse Records, Locrian's new work will see the light of day spring 2013. The material, which is reportedly being recorded at Electrical Audio Studios by Greg Norman (Russian Circles, Pelican)has a unique conceptual bent spread across a two-part album.
In the news release, band member Andre Foisy elaborates on the forthcoming record:
Musically, side A ends in a trilogy of songs and side B ends in a quadrilogy. Each of these two tracks mirror each other in places. In addition to some musical themes that pop up in different places in the album, there are also some musical themes that harken back to our older catalog
