It's only recently begun to feel like fall around here and, with the trees only clinging to their remaining leaves we thought it would be great to see some of Nature in action.

Leave it to Chicago Film Archives to provide us with this 23-minute video shot by amateur filmmaker Warren E. Thompson that captures Wisconsin in autumn, between 1957 and 1965.

According to CFA, Thompson shot his film on reverse color film stock. The films are silent—CFA assumes it was because Thompson would narrate them during screenings. He shot Chicago's post-war boom and decline between 1949 and 1983 and his skill as a filmmaker is evident.
