The fine folks at Guys Drinking Beer tipped us to a fundraiser tonight at The Green Lady to help out in the ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. the money from tonight's "Suds for Sandy" event will be split equally between employees of Manhattan-based bar The Ginger Man (who have lost at least a week's pay since electricity was cut to the tavern) and The Bowery Mission, who have been providing for the homeless since 1879. Green Lady owner Melani Domingues used to manage The Ginger Man before coming to Chicago and opening The Green Lady. Special beers will be tapped for this event and there will be a silent auction; keep an eye on their Facebook event page for the full list of auction items and beers. (3328 N. Lincoln Ave.; 8 p.m.)
