By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 17, 2012 8:00PM

2012_11_17_jamaican_oldies.jpg Local DJ Chuck Wren celebrates the upcoming 20th anniversary of his label, Jump Up Records, with events at Mayne Stage tonight and Reggie's tomorrow. Wren started Jump Up Records in 1993, releasing ska, reggae, rock steady, and calypso under the motto "Jamaican music made the old fashioned way." With over 100 releases by the likes of Deal's Gone Bad, the Soul Steppers, Skapone and other artists Wren believes never received the recognition they deserved.

Wren, Mayne Stage and Sound Culture have teamed together to present the legendary Stranger Cole, best known for the hits "Rough and Tough" and "When You Call My Name," who will be backed by Minnesota-based band, the Prizefighters. The bill also includes the Soul Radics, with Wren spinning tunes all night. This is an 18+ show. (1328 W. Morse, 8 p.m.)

Tomorrow night at Reggie's The Mediations, responsible for such hits as "tricked" and "Running from jamaica," take the stage with The Drastics featuring MC Zulu. (2105 S. State St., 8 p.m., 21+)
