There have been a lot of changes to Chicago’s bike lanes since the Active Transportation Alliance released its 2010 bike map. First, we now have protected and buffered bike lanes—nearly 34 miles by year-end—and a plan in place to expand the overall number of lanes available to cyclists. Bicyclists have a champion in City Department of Transportation Commissioner and avid cyclist Gabe Klein. And the city’s bike sharing program is slated to launch next year.

With all these changes and more in the works, it’s time for Active Trans to update its map for 2013 and they want your input. Volunteers are canvassing the region looking for the best bike lanes for their communities and Active Trans is asking cyclists to take this online survey to help make the map better. Want a digital version of the map similar to
? Say so. Want to see the protected and buffered bike lanes properly defined. Let them know.
