Notre Dame 22, USC 13

Coach Brian Kelly's Irish did their part to add some non-SEC variety to the BCS chanpionship picture by earning their way to the title game in Miami. Theo Riddick rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown, Everett Golson passed for 216 yards, Kyle Brindza kicked five field goals and the Irish defense came up with a tough goal line stand with 2:33 left in the game to complete its first undefeated season since the 1988 championship squad. Notre Dame will now face either Alabama or Georgia for the national championship.

Northwestern 50, Illinois 14

The Wildcats improved their chances for a New Year's Day bowl game by feasting on the Illini at Ryan Field. Venric Mark rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown, Kain Colter tossed a career-high three touchdown passes and NU won nine games for the first time in four years. Tim Beckman ends his first season in Champaign with a 2-10 record and a stranglehold on the Big Ten's cellar.

Bulls 93, Milwaukee 86

The Bulls' "circus trip" took them 90 miles north of the United Center Saturday night and, true to form in this young season, they had to fight to the final moments to snap a three-game losing streak. Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 22 points and 19 rebounds, Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and Luol Deng added 14. The Bulls' quest to find a go-to scorer continued as the team has had to fight for nearly every point this season.
