Grace, the long-awaited restaurant from former Avenues chef Curtis Duffy, is set to open Dec. 11. When we spoke with Duffy in December 2011 about his plans for Grace, he said expanded resources would allow him to spread his wings and allow him to better realize the “microseasonal” cooking that earned him some of the highest critical acclaim among Chicago chefs and Michelin stars.

Duffy played close to the vest when we asked him about a location for Grace. At 652 W. Randolph, he’s situated Grace at one end of an already packed Randolph Street restaurant district that has morphed in recent years from Jerry Kleiner central to the most vibrant dining area in the city. Duffy will have two 8-12 course tasting menus available nightly at Grace, at a cost of $185 each. Reservations (recommended, call 312-234-9494) are now being taken. The one-sheet announcing the opening also notes jackets are recommended, so no Affliction t-shirts and trucker hats, gentlemen.

Grub Street Chicago's Michael Gebert has been posting regular video updates on Grace's buildout that you can view here.
