Alpana Singh's The Boarding House Opens December 20

We've been waiting for a long time for this one. We got a sneak peek at The Boarding House a couple of months ago, but it was barely safe to move around, let alone take pictures. Now, after months of waiting, we finally have an opening date for Alpana Singh's new restaurant.

We've been watching the progress of the restaurant on Instagram for months—we even tried stalking Singh when she was testing dishes in the former LM space in Lincoln Square. Now we can visit. Starting at the end of the week, the first-floor bar (site of the 9000 wine glass chandelier) and the basement lounge will be soft opening. The real opening of the dramatic third floor dining room is on Dec. 20, and reservations are already going fast on OpenTable. Singh sent us these photos of the restaurant's interior, including several shots of the wine-glass and wine-bottle ceiling fixtures.

If you need more convincing, we got a sneak peek of some of the food Chef Christian Gosselin will be turning out a couple of months ago. Some bites will be served in the soft opening period, but the full menu won't start until the 20th.

The Boarding House is located at 720 N. Wells.
