More evidence in the further wimpification of America…check out Crain’s Chicago Business’ coverage of Chicago’s first hangover clinic:

For $99 the medical staff will sooth your nausea, headache and cotton mouth with intravenous fluids, vitamins and medications as needed.

“Paramedics and residents have been doing this for decades for colds and flu,” said Dr. Dybis, who treats those maladies and jetlag at [the clinic], too. “You start feeling better right away.” Treatments last about an hour.

We remember our father disappointedly muttering, “you danced the dance, now you have to pay the piper” after our first hangover. Those words still ring true today as another treasured (well, OK, that might be pushing it) tradition threatens to bite the dust. While Chicago is supposed to be a tough town, sadly, we predict long lines for the clinic in River North on Tuesday. But really, is it a good idea to jam needles into your veins just because you can’t handle last night’s binge? Wimps.
