Fred Armisen Flashes His Drumming Chops On Fallon

Fred Armisen is primarily known nowadays as a Saturday Night Live cast member and the co-brains behind the hilarious Portlandia. What most folks might not know is he has deep musical roots, extending back to his days in Chicago when he played drums for the post-punkers Trenchmouth and then moved on to be a regular drummer for the Blue Man Group when it first came to town. No kidding!

In fact his comedy career actually sprouted from his shenanigan at the SXSW music festival, so you can thank his drumming for the yuks he gives you today.

Last night Armisen swung by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and dug out some of his old drumsticks to go head-to-head against ?uestlove. Let's just say none of us would survive three seconds in a drum-off with either of those dudes!
