Nude Sunrise Was Burgled And The Band Needs Your Help

Imagine coming home from holiday break and all your valuables are gone. That’s precisely what happened to Nude Sunrise. Much of the local psych-jam band’s gear was over at Humboldt Park warehouse / venue Dustbowl when it was burglarized during the season of giving and good cheer and all that.

Among the items stolen were an Epiphone Telecaster, SG guitar, Micro Korg, vintage Boss PDS Delay, Boss Super Shifter, Boss DD3 Delay, and Electro Harmonix Memory Boy. Like any resourceful hipster, these guys have taken to Indiegogo to start a fundraising campaign. Their goal is $2,000, and so far they’re about a fourth of the way there. But until the band can raise enough funds to buy back their gear, they’re on hiatus:

We spend so much money and time gathering the things necessary for our sound and a tragedy likes this really destroys us. We struggle with normal life bills and are now stuck on hiatus til we are able to collect new gear. … Any Contribution would help us dramatically and would place you as a friend to us forever. We have a brand new LP on the way and a whole catalog of new stuff to record so any help would set us toward that.

So that’s it: If you want to be Nude Sunrise’s BFF forever, throw them a few dollars. Fifteen dollars gets you a download of a not-yet-released song. Other gifts for contributing include a weed shirt (huh?), a cassette of the new album and a custom sweatshirt.

If you’re not familiar with the band, feel free to stream two of their albums over at their Bandcamp page. And here’s some live video of the band’s Burlington performance a couple weeks ago:
