A Chicago man was arrested for spitting on a Secret Service agent guarding the Obamas' home in Kenwood.

The area surrounding President Barack Obama's Chicago home is heavily guarded by Secret Service agents, even when the First Family is in Washington. Barricades guard entry to the block, excluding every one except residents.

Kevin Lawrence, 46, allegedly spit into the car of an agent guarding the home on Dec. 29, striking the agent on the face and neck.

Lawrence was arrested Saturday near his home in Hyde Park. Lawrence was charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer and was ordered held on $50,000 bond. It's unclear why police took two weeks to arrest him.
