2013_1_18_Vamos.jpg When Vamos took the stage at Township last night, we were like Who the hell is this? but then they started playing and we were like, Aww snap. The local three-piece has an unruly and contagious energy and a knack for punk rock—bigmouthed vocals, fast and furious rhythms, a bluesy feel that makes you want to drink whiskey in a smoky room if you weren’t already preoccupied with rocking out.

As luck has it, these guys have recently put out a new single, “Stones,” featuring the title track as well as a second track, “Chemicals.” Check it out for yourself. If you don’t dig it, then stop complaining because these jams are free through Bandcamp:

If you browse around Vamos’ Bandcamp page, you’ll find a few other songs free to download. And Vamos tells us that they'll be playing a live show at Logan Square bar The Owl on Valentine’s Day, along with local psych-punk act Rabble Rabble.
