Teen River Nite Takes Over Empty Bottle Tuesday

2013_2_1_TeenRiver.jpg Teen River hasn’t been around long—the local cassette label started up in 2011—but in that short time, it’s put out an overwhelming flood of material (something like 20 tapes per month, according to Gonzo Chicago). The crazy cats behind this label, Gordon and Katrina Stoneheart of the now-non-operational Ball Hall, must be pretty exhausted, but they show no signs of taking a break.

February will reveal yet more Teen River releases, and, on Tuesday night, the label will take over the Empty Bottle to introduce a few bands of the Teen River family who have upcoming material.

Chicago psych-rockers Cool Memories take the stage to celebrate their new tape, Debt. But this is a double release show: Quick Sails, the solo noise project of Tiger Hatchery’s Ben Billington, will also perform in celebration of his new tape, Weight of Worth. Columbia Fasciata, which is comprised of members of Toupee, will also perform, as well the solo project of Jake Acosta (Distractions), Famous Laughs.

As is common at the Bottle, this show is free if you RSVP through Ticketweb, and since it’s Twofer Twosday, feel free to bring a guest. And check out some Teen River releases over at the label’s Bandcamp page.

Teen River Nite is Tuesday, February 5 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 9 p.m., $8 or free with RSVP, 21+
