Monday Afternoon Diversion: How David Bowie Wrote 'Where Are We Now?'

David Bowie fans collectively freaked out when he debuted a new song titled "Where are We Now?" last month, with plans for a new album to come out later this year.

But the roots of "Where are We Now?" actually go back six years, at least. Here's a short clip where we get to compare the melody of Bowie's new track with a sketch where he played himself on Ricky Gervais's BBC show Extras that lasted about as long as it takes us to drink our morning cappuccino.
