Anthony warned those of you wanting to purchase Baconfest Chicago 2013 tickets to be at the ready when they went on sale at noon. The event sold out in 41 minutes, which is astounding as it shows Chicago's infatuation with bacon is so strong that hundreds of people were willing to pay $100—$200 to be a VIP—for the privilege of attending the April 20 event at UIC Forum.

Seth Zurer, one of the Baconfest Triumvirate that founded the fest, told DNAInfo Chicago:

"We wish we had a venue the size of the moon and enough bacon for all those who went to eat it, but unfortunately we have to live in the world of physical space."
