Sidewalk Chalk headlines Thursday night’s Save Syria benefit show

Looking for a way to support the humanitarian effort in Syria without doing more than, say, drinking a beer and listening to some music? Then you’re in luck! This Thursday night, a few local bands are coming together to put on a Syria benefit show at the Empty Bottle.

Headlining the benefit show will be piece soul-jazz-hip-hop project Sidewalk Chalk, and they’ll be supported by folk pop act Bassel & The Supernaturals (who will also be releasing a new 12" vinyl Dreamer at the show), and indie rockers Carbon Tigers. 45% of profits from the show will go to two charity organizations, Avaaz and the ICRC in Syria, assisting families with food, water, medical supplies, and blankets in Syria, and there will be donation boxes/credit card donations for anyone who wants to contribute more.

The Save Syria benefit show is Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western, 9 p.m., $10, 21+
