Bronzeville emcee NoNameGypsy makes her anti-authoritarian raps sound as bright and vibrant as the weekend morning her track’s production so evocatively conjures. Download her "Sunday Morning" ahead of her show Thursday at Schubas.

Since coming in third place in the Louder Than A Bomb poetry competition in 2010, Gypsy has been rapping and performing. She's performed at the Vic, The Metro and Lincoln Hall. Gypsy is currently working on a mixtape, titled Telefone, due out in the summer. "I think the mixtape will be an introduction or conversation about who I am as a young artist. Half of the project is recorded but not mastered," Gypsy wrote to Chicagoist in an email. She said "Sunday Morning" will most likely appear on the project.

Regardless of whether "Sunday Morning" ultimately appears on Telefone, the track, a glowing blend of psychedelic neo-soul and street-smart rhymes, is a perfect introduction to Gypsy as an artist indeed. What makes "Sunday Morning" compelling is the juxtaposition between the easy-going production and Gypsy's strident, anti-government lyrics. Download it below:
