A couple of big-box screen-to-stage musicals claim the spotlight this week on the Chicago stage.

Catch Me If You Can

You won’t find Tom Hanks or Leo DiCaprio in this version, but you will find catchy showtunes and an intriguing plot set-up that proves this splashy musical isn’t just a screen-to-stage rehash. The show runs Tuesday, April 2 through Sunday, April 14.

Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., 312-384-1502 or online.

Big Fish

It’s a big week for movie-based musicals, we guess. But we’re intrigued by the world premiere of Big Fish, led by Tony-winning Broadway vet Norbert Leo Butz. The show runs Tuesday, April 2 through Sunday, May 5.

Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St., 312-977-1700 or online.

Kiss Kiss Cabaret

If you haven’t checked out Kiss Kiss Cabaret since the weekly burlesque first premiered a few years ago, you certainly won’t be seeing the same show. Each energetic performance is a stuffed with stand-up, singing, dancing, vaudeville, magic and, of course, the art of the tease. The show runs every Friday at 11 p.m.

Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., 773-404-7336 or online.
