Want To Jump On The Pierogi Wagon?

2013_3_11_Pierogi.png It's a truism to say that Chicagoans love pierogi. Anything stuffed in dough is tasty and convenient; when those things involve bacon, sour cream and sauerkraut, they become even more so. An ambitious pair is attempting to capitalize on this pierogi fanaticism by starting up the Pierogi Wagon.

We are being deluged with Kickstarter campaigns for food trucks and businesses, and we've probably handed out far too much money in the past month or so. Spring is coming, which means that all of the ambitious new (legal) food truck owners who want to get licensed need money ASAP.

This future truck, owned by a couple who also run a marketing agency, will bring pierogi to the streets. At first, the flavors will be traditional, and creative dips will help to modernize the offerings with caramelized onion aioli, jalapeƱo ranch and applewood smoked bacon sour cream. We're already hungry.

They also have an incredibly good deal as one of their bonuses — a year's worth of pierogis for just $250. That amount gets you one tasty package per week at a pretty significant savings.
