2012_7_28_sox_logo.jpeg Cleveland 9, White Sox 4The White Sox motto this season is "Make an Impact" and through 11 games that impact hasn't been positive. Chris Sale allowed eight runs and two home runs in 4 1/3 innings in one of his worst starts as a White Sox as the South Siders have now lost five straight games. Alejandro De Aza homered for the Sox, who were 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

San Francisco 3, Cubs 2

Expect a lot of games like this when Jeff Samardzija takes the mound, Cubs fans. The team's pitching ace — and we aren't using that term ironically — allowed only two runs in six innings but the Cubs lineup did him no favors. Dioner Navarro hit a pinch hit home run in the eighth inning to keep the game close, but the rest of the lineup was 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and stranded seven runners. The injuries are beginning to pile up for the Cubs, as well. Steve Clevenger went down with a nasty looking oblique injury while striking out to end the game. A forearm injury sends Kyuji Fujikawa to the DL.
