Starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, All Day IPA from Founders goes on tap at John Barleycorn’s in River North, signalling the beginning of Alphabeer X. The event, in its tenth incarnation since 2009, gives guests the opportunity to not only taste 26 beers in alphabetical order, but to also learn a little bit about each beer, via the creator of the event, Theresa Carter, and the hostess and 4-time Alphabeer veteran, chef Jill Houk and other special guests.

Also instrumental to the educational component of Alphabeer are representatives from Founders, Brewery Vivant, 5 Rabbit, Goose Island, and New Holland who will be available to discuss their beers. Chef Cleetus Friedman will discuss Loudmouth Soup, the beer he brewed with Greenbush, folks representing Chicago Beer Geeks and a smattering of Chicago’s Barley’s Angels (both groups helped curate the beer list).
