Lula Cafe Closed Due To Flooding ... Again

By Anthony Todd in Food on Apr 19, 2013 3:00PM

One of the first pieces of news we got during yesterday's storm was from Lula Cafe. They announced that they would be closed because of flooding.

According to reports on Twitter and Facebook, they are still closed as of this morning. Looks like they spent a good long time last night trying to get things cleaned up, as Chef Michael Simmons congratulated his team of line cooks at about 11:30 last night.

He included this photo:

Based on that photo, the dining room looks like something of a mess.

This isn't the first time Lula has closed because of a flood. They flooded back in 2010 and again in 2011. Clearly, they are (understandably) frustrated, based on this tweet from yesterday.

We've reached out to representatives of the restaurant to find out more. Until you hear otherwise, we suggest that you call before trying to dine at Lula, even if you have a reservation.
