Nerds of Chicago, rejoice! Two different arcade bars are hosting grand openings this week, throwing open their doors to serve your gaming and drinking needs. Luckily, they're on two different nights.

Last month, Headquarters Beercade announced a massive expansion. This meant the demise of Uncle Fatty's Rum Resort, but its death was not in vain, as the bar planned a whole new section based on pinball. If you thought Ms. Pac Man brought back childhood memories, just wait until you start pounding on those pinball buttons. Well, the expansion officially opens for business this Thursday night at 7 p.m. The expansion includes 7,000 square feet of drinking and gaming and more than 20 new pinball machines.

We've been breathlessly awaiting Replay since the first moment we heard that it was coming. Finally, someplace for gay nerds to hang out where they didn't risk being mocked by orangey-tan pretty boys! Replay is in the former Buck's space at 3439 North Halsted, and has a cocktail menu curated by Elixer, 24 craft beer lines and a whole ton of vintage arcade games. We're attending a preview later in the week and will report back with all the details. The bar opens to the public on Friday night.
