Bridgeport Coffee Company Barista Dies In Hit And Run

Tragedy marred the opening of Version 2013 Friday night when Carissa Hinz, who was volunteering at the kickoff event at the Co-Prosperity Sphere, was killed in a hit and run outside the Bridgeport venue around midnight.

Hinz was a barista at the nearby Bridgeport Coffee Company for around a year, a graduate of the American Academy of Art, and was well-liked by her co-workers and neighbors of the coffee shop.

As of post time no suspects have been arrested in connection with Hinz's death. Anyone with any information about the events of last night is urged to call 312-745-4521, the Hit and Run Division of the Chicago Police Department.
