Chicagoans took to the streets outside Wrigley Field and in Wicker Park Monday to celebrate the Blackhawks Stanley Cup win. Most overstayed their welcome. What started as a civil yet crowded celebration outside Wrigley Field shortly after the game was over eventually devolved into some celebrants throwing full cans of beer and rocks at police officers and horses, looting and some property damage. If this is how Chicagoans celebrate a Stanley Cup, imagine what would happen if the Cubs actually win a World Series. The hellmouth the neighborhood sits atop would swallow it whole.
Meanwhile, more people swarmed Wicker Park's six corners intersection, aka "The Crotch," "in a show of civic pride".
