Get Your Free 7-Eleven Slurpees on 7/11

2013_7_11_slurpee.jpg It's July 11, which means it's "7-Eleven Day" across America. That means free Slurpees at participating 7-Eleven locations from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

This year marks the convenience store chain's 86th anniversary. 7-Eleven day began in 2002 to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary and the free Slurpee giveaways have resulted in the unexpected surprise of seeing sales of the drink increase on the days they're given away for free. (That's probably because there's a limit of one Slurpee per customer and you can't have just one.)

One change to the giveaway this year is the size of the free Slurpee. You'll now get a free small Slurpee; previously it was a 7.11-ounce sized drink. 7-Eleven is rolling out new Slurpee flavors, Slurpee-branded merchandise, party favors, and a mobile phone app, just because, for the occasion. They've even released a video called the "Slurpee Dance" featuring YouTube dance sensation Nathan Barnatt, so all that sugar doesn't go to your ass.

Here's a map showing some of the scores of 7-Eleven locations across Chicago, in case you feel like visiting more than one for a free Slurpee.
